Cycling in the Desert at Palm Springs a Perfect Winter Sport

Cycling the Palm Springs Region by Nelson Copp. ISBN: 978-0-932653-93-2

by Vic Chapman

December  is the height of Desert Biking Season. There are a growing number of cyclists who prefer the winter desert for biking and Palm Springs is a perfect place for them: easy to get to, surrounded by desert and mountains and afflicted with stunning, hard beauty on every side, the region has a lot going for it. Now it has a well-written and useful guide for riders at all levels of experience to help them enjoy the experience and  scenery.
Cycling is the only guide to in-town, rural and mountain rides for the area. It contains 35 rides for all levels of skill, fitness and interest, vetted by the author. In addition, there are details of trip time, riding distance and elevation and navigation coordinates for each ride. Some trips are for mountain bikes while the balance are for road bikes; every ride is filled with plentiful detail including maps, turn by turn directions, points of interest and points of interest as well as danger. 35 road maps round out the book.
Great for the weekend traveller or anyone who wants to explore the outdoors, Cycling is a useful guide that can get you started on the ground floor of a coming sport—before everyone else. The book is a companion to another excellent guide on San Diego riding  by the same author.
