TODAY’S COFFEES

TODAY’S COFFEES roasted in San Diego on 4/4/24:

WIPEOUT: A Brazilian of particular note; medium roast; fine even beans. It went fast. http://wipeoutcoffee.com

MODERN TIMES: Colombia Sierra Nevada; Guatemala Atitlan; The Half Caff Blend. http://moderntimesbeer.com

LA COSTA COFFEE ROASTING: Espresso, French, Guatemala, Kona, several flavors but the connection was bad and we didn’t catch those, sorry. La Costa is one of the more prolific roasters in SD, usually with 15 -20 offerings daily. http://lacostacoffee.com

REVOLUTION ROASTERS: Colombia La Amiga medium roast. http://revorasters.com

IRONSMITH: Ethiopia, Kenya Nguvu, Guatemala/Mexico blend; http://ironsmithcoffee.com

A WORD TO THE WISE: Of course you want some fine coffee; one way to get a consistently good bean year after year is to explore the wonder of Colombian coffees. Colombians are the universal donor to many excellent blends and feature heavily in what others claim to be Hawaiian (but you didn’t hear that from us). The Supremo bean is a fine buy and takes even light roasting well; the best buy for your buck in the little Excelso; the same grade as the Supremo, but merely a smaller bean size. We like ’em fairly middlin’ to dark and use them up in all brew methods. Tell them ESPRESSO said so.
